Risk markers carried in the record

No park-it or park-outside warning is flagged in this vehicle's collected record. This does not establish that the vehicle is defect-free or that every notice is included.

The markers above summarize fields available in this dataset. A missing marker is not a safety finding. Recall status and remedy eligibility can depend on vehicle identification number, equipment, production date, and whether a repair has already been completed.

Recall distribution by component

2 component categories

Counts and shares use the vehicle-level recall records shown below. The horizontal bar is scaled to the largest category on this page.
ComponentCampaignsShareRelative volume
EQUIPMENT266.7%
SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC133.3%

Component labels follow the source record's component field. Where the source includes a more detailed subcomponent after a colon, this distribution groups the record under the first component segment. Shares are calculated against 3 campaigns and rounded to one decimal place, so displayed percentages may not sum to exactly 100 percent.

Recall dates by calendar year

2 calendar years

These are recall notice dates, not vehicle model years.
Calendar yearCampaignsRelative volume

The timeline groups campaign records by their reported recall date. This explains why the date range (2010–2015) can begin before or end after model year 2009. The underlying vehicle may be covered by notices issued in several different calendar years.

Summary
Allied Recreation Group, Inc. (ARG) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Holiday Rambler Admiral, 2009-2014 Holiday Rambler Ambassador, 2010 Holiday Rambler Arista, 2010-2014 Holiday Rambler Endeavor, 2009-2011 Holiday Rambler Neptune, 2011-2014 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, 2009-2011 Monaco Cayman, 2010-2014 Monaco Diplomat, 2014 Monaco Dynasty, 2009-2014 Monaco Knight, 2012-2013 Monaco LaPalma, 2009-2013 Monaco Monarch, 2009-2011 Monaco Riptide, 2008 Safari Passage, and 2008 Safari Simba motorhomes. The affected vehicles are equipped with certain Lippert-brand Coachstep Double Electric Steps. These steps use a bolt to attach the fan gear assembly to the steps. This bolt may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable.

Consequence
Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.

Remedy
ARG will notify owners and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2016. Owners may contact ARG customer service number at 1-800-509-3417. ARG's number for this recall is 151216REV.

Summary
NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 1200-SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.

Consequence
THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.

Remedy
NAVISTAR IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO IDENTIFY AND NOTIFY ANY AFFECTED OWNERS. OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT NORCOLD DEALERS TO RECEIVE THE REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE SEE NORCOLD'S DEFECT REPORT 10E-049 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 1, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NORCOLD AT 1-800-767-9101.

How 2009 Monaco Knight compares within Monaco

1 listed 2009 model-year records

Other collected Monaco records for model year 2009.
VehicleCampaignsDate range
No other Monaco model-year record is present in this dataset.

This comparison is calculated from vehicle records for the same make and model year in this snapshot. It is a simple arithmetic average, not an industry benchmark. A model may appear under more than one configuration in the source data, and campaign counts do not indicate the probability that a specific vehicle has an unresolved defect.

Data source and interpretation

NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, retrieved 2026-11-01. Recall records reflect manufacturer reports submitted to NHTSA. Absence of a recall here does not mean a vehicle is defect-free.

This page reports 3 campaign records, groups them into 2 component categories, and places the notice dates into these calendar years: 2010: 2; 2015: 1. These are derived views of the supplied records, not additional findings from NHTSA.

The collection includes model-year records with one or more recalls. It is not a complete vehicle history, VIN eligibility result, repair-status check, safety rating, or guarantee that the source has no later updates. Confirm current campaign details and vehicle applicability with official NHTSA information and the manufacturer.
