Risk markers carried in the record

No park-it or park-outside warning is flagged in this vehicle's collected record. This does not establish that the vehicle is defect-free or that every notice is included.

The markers above summarize fields available in this dataset. A missing marker is not a safety finding. Recall status and remedy eligibility can depend on vehicle identification number, equipment, production date, and whether a repair has already been completed.

Recall distribution by component

4 component categories

Counts and shares use the vehicle-level recall records shown below. The horizontal bar is scaled to the largest category on this page.
ComponentCampaignsShareRelative volume
EQUIPMENT125.0%
SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC125.0%
SUSPENSION125.0%
STEERING125.0%

Component labels follow the source record's component field. Where the source includes a more detailed subcomponent after a colon, this distribution groups the record under the first component segment. Shares are calculated against 4 campaigns and rounded to one decimal place, so displayed percentages may not sum to exactly 100 percent.

Recall dates by calendar year

3 calendar years

These are recall notice dates, not vehicle model years.
Calendar yearCampaignsRelative volume

The timeline groups campaign records by their reported recall date. This explains why the date range (2008–2016) can begin before or end after model year 2008. The underlying vehicle may be covered by notices issued in several different calendar years.

Summary
Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 Caribbean, Yellowstone and Independence, 2008-2009 Crescendo, Sun Voyager, and Toy Hauler, 2008 Sun Sport, 2008-2010 Tour Master, 2010 B Touring Cruiser, 2010-2011 Conquest, 2009-2010 Conquest Super C and Super Nova, 2009 Endura and Gladiator motor homes manufactured August 1, 2007 to September 30, 2010. The affected vehicles are equipped with Lippert-brand Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable.

Consequence
Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.

Remedy
Gulf Stream will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, free of charge. The recall began on March 1, 2016. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is CS070116.

Summary
Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (GSC) is recall certain model year 2006 through 2008 Crescendo, Sun Voyager, Independence, Bounty Hunters, and Yellowstone Class A diesel pusher motor homes built on Freightliner Custom Chassis (FCCC) from March 18, 2005, through December 2009. These motorhomes chassis are equipped with Bosch hydraulic disc brakes which, when exposed to long periods of time of non-driving, may experience diametrical brake caliper piston growth and reduced piston to bore clearance potentially leading to brake drag and overheating resulting in reduced brake performance.

Consequence
Reduced brake performance increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy
FCCC will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed by DTNA on August 6, 2012. Owners may contact GSC at 1-800-289-8787 or Daimler Trucks/FCCC at 1-800-547-0712.

GULF STREAM IS RECALLING 50 MY 2008-2009 CRESCENDO, YELLOWSTONE, AND TOURMASTER RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SAF-HOLLAND ADL SERIES REAR SUSPENSIONS. IN SOME INSTANCES THE TRANSVERSE BEAM WAS NOT PROPERLY WELDED WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FAILURE OF THE WELD.

Consequence
IF THE WELD FAILS, VEHICLE STABILITY WHILE CORNERING COULD BE AFFECTED RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSVERSE BEAM COULD DROP TO THE GROUND CAUSING SPARKS THAT COULD CAUSE A FIRE HAZARD.

Remedy
GULF STREAM IS WORKING WITH DAIMLER TRUCKS AND SAF-HOLLAND TO HAVE A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE ADL TRANSVERSE BEAM PERFORMED. IF A WELD DEFECT IS IDENTIFIED, SAF-HOLLAND WILL PROVIDE A SERVICE REPLACEMENT KIT THAT CONTAINS A NEW TRANSVERSE BEAM, ALL NECESSARY INSTALLATION HARDWARE, BEAM REPLACEMENT, AND INSTRUCTIONS FREE OF CHARGE (PLEASE SEE 08E031). This comparison is calculated from vehicle records for the same make and model year in this snapshot. It is a simple arithmetic average, not an industry benchmark. A model may appear under more than one configuration in the source data, and campaign counts do not indicate the probability that a specific vehicle has an unresolved defect.

Data source and interpretation

NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, retrieved 2026-11-01. Recall records reflect manufacturer reports submitted to NHTSA. Absence of a recall here does not mean a vehicle is defect-free.

This page reports 4 campaign records, groups them into 4 component categories, and places the notice dates into these calendar years: 2008: 2; 2012: 1; 2016: 1. These are derived views of the supplied records, not additional findings from NHTSA.

The collection includes model-year records with one or more recalls. It is not a complete vehicle history, VIN eligibility result, repair-status check, safety rating, or guarantee that the source has no later updates. Confirm current campaign details and vehicle applicability with official NHTSA information and the manufacturer.
